Great with sandwiches.
Prominently featured on the lid of every jar of Claussen pickles is the phrase, "Great with sandwiches." I like pickles, and I can report that there have been times when I have eaten a pickle when no sandwich was involved. However, this was greatly in the minority.
I try to envision a scenario in which a consumer buys a jar of Claussen pickles for some non-sandwich purpose (a relish tray on Thanksgiving, for example), only to find this phrase on the lid, and there is a sudden enlightenment! "Oh Lord," exclaims the consumer in a moment of clarity, "pickles are great with sandwiches too!" Thereby greatly increasing that consumer's annual poundage of pickle consumption. I try, but I can't see it.
Some copywriter was paid good American dollars to come up with that phrase on the Claussen pickle jar lid. Furthermore, we can assume that this was the best writing the company could produce for this particular purpose. Of course, this could be a bit dreamed up by Mr. Claussen and used because He's The Boss. That's a more believable scenario.

I don't know Shocho. After my experience with big business, I'm not convinced that every company pays big bucks for some of the stuff they put on packages.
Maybe it could be "It's like sandwhiches on steroids!"
