You'll be a great plumber, I'm sure!
I had a leaky pipe, the kind that needs professional attention. Time to call a plumber. I didn't have time to find one, but you graciously volunteered. After all, you've dealt with plumbers a lot in your regular line of work, even though you're not a plumber yourself. After an extensive search, you found a great plumber for me. Nobody could find anything wrong with him, and it looks like he'll do a fine job on that pipe.
Now I've got another leak, and that means I'll be needing another plumber. I could have you look for a plumber again, but I've decided that you'd make a fine plumber, even though you've never actually done plumbing work before. So can you come over and work on this other leaky pipe for me?

I'll be there a week on Tuesday (maybe) between 9 and 1 (meaning I'll show up at 2 and then bill you because you've given up and gone out).
My call out charge is $120 and any work I do is over and above that.
You got duct tape, dontcha? What? You don't have duct tape??? You call yerself a home owner?? If you can't fix it with duct tape and a hammer, then it can't be fixed. Time to move.
It's an allegorical tale.
I thought it must be... else you would call the same plumber.
Now I just need to figure out the allegory.

It's been almost a week, so here's the explanation. I am George W. Bush (the younger). You are Harriet Miers. She helped find John Roberts, and then got nominated to join him on the court with no judicial experience.
