La Jetee.

This is a French film from 1962 about a post-apocalyptic, subjugated society. It is comprised of entirely still shot photography. Reportedly Terry Gilliam was "inspired" by this short film when he made 12 Monkeys (a film I have never seen all the way through).

In fact, I have never watched this all the way through, even though it doesn't last that long. I am the worst kind of journalist.
