We both wish you all the Happiest of Holidays!
(This is the Christmas letter that LWC wrote for our cards this year.)
Dear Friends,
It has been a busy year in the Kallenbach world and now is the time to tell you all about it.
Last year at Christmas, Chuck was in Seattle working for WizKids, a company that creates games. This was just a three month job, but good money. So in February I got to go to Seattle, Washington. This was the first time I have ever been west of Kansas City, Missouri. Chuck was home in March and once again looking for full time work, but also doing free-lance work, so we were getting by and happy to be together.
The next few months were quiet, we were trying to sell our house, but not having much luck. But, in July we found out that we might be doing some more travelling, but had to wait for a little while so plans could be finalized. The house was still for sale but little progress on that front.
In August, our world turned upside down, Chuck was hired by Sony Online Entertainment to help design games and they are located in beautiful downtown Denver, Colorado. So we got to see Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri (a short stay at our friends the Lischkes that let us spend some quality time with Brian and our friends), Kansas (did you know that there are no trees in Kansas and the cows have to stand under the road signs to get out of the sun!) and arrived in Lakewood, Colorado on September 1.
Our house finally sold in November, which was a welcome relief. House payments and rent are not fun when you have to do them at the same time.
One last trip before the end of the year, we spent last weekend in San Diego, California for the SOE Christmas party. (Overnight trips are unusal at best. I had to take my pictures in the car going to the airport the next morning.) The Christmas party was held at the Natural History Museum and it was really great.
Brian is doing well and still living in St. Louis. He is trying to go back to school and work and who hasn’t done that.
We both wish you all the Happiest of Holidays!
