Why you can't gamble online.

Because it's bad for state governments, that's why. And that's what your elected representatives are supposed to do: protect their own interests. Bet you thought it was your interests they were supposed to protect, didn't ya?

One of the big winners from the government's action against online gambling will be the state governments that are America's most relentless promoters of gambling. Forty-eight states (all but Hawaii and Utah) have some form of legalized gambling.
George Will calls it Prohibition II.

meh...the majority of it is still just the lottery and I don't think that the online gambling is stealing any of the lottery's money.
