That's why I liked it.

Caught Woody Allen's new film Scoop yesterday whilst chased out of the house on another viewing. I liked it a lot. It had snappy dialogue, a clever plot, and didn't take itself too seriously. Rumor has it that Allen has compared it to my beloved Thin Man comedies, featuring William Powell and Myrna Loy. Except for the fact that the relationship in Scoop is more father and daughter than man and wife, the films have a lot in common. It's a funny movie I recommend to anyone who likes Allen in any way shape or form, old or new. Ian MacShane and Hugh Jackman are both terrific as always. The New York Times review called it "ragged," and they meant that in a good way, and I agree.

Methinks Woody doesn't really know the difference between "man and wife" and "father and daughter" anyway.

Zing!

Anything with Scarlet Johansen is watchable for me and this sounds like a good'un.

Thanks to Tom and Kathy, for making the responses I expect them to make whenever I put the words "Woody" and "Allen" in the same post.
