Luigi only cheer for the Ferrari.
Pixar's Cars is an ode to the open road and a paean to auto racing, mostly American. It even has "guest appearances" by several famous race car drivers. It's a fond remembrance of an old-time America that most people seeing the movie have no experience with. While us baby boomers remember this time, the rest of you will just have to enjoy the scenery.
Cars has over 350 merchandising items tied to it, perhaps a new record. Take that, Lucasfilm! It's a corny, sappy, lovable movie that kids should enjoy playing with toys from. There is a Tractor-Tipping board game, which looks like fun. Don't wake Frank!
There's a delightful short film before Cars called One Man Band. The closing credits for Cars feature a funny nod to John Ratzenberger, and the best visual gag in the movie is featured again at the very end.
I was right to put my faith in Pixar. Their films transport me to a place I've never been, where the attention to details (oh my God, the marbles on the race track) is truly phenomenal. Luigi and Guido, you rock.

Bye!
I'm glad to hear that it didn't suck. When the first trailer hit, it looked like major crap and the studio yanked it for "tooling". My boy seems interested in seeing it so maybe now I can do it. But how can you really doubt Pixar??
