Clooney for president?
A nice summation of the latest Academy Awards presentation moments includes yet more musings about why Crash won best picture. Theories abound concerning its extensive promotional campaign, ensemble cast, many edits (it's a theory, trust me), and Los Angeles location.
No one seems to be able to stomach the fact that a film that cost about six million dollars to make can win the Big Oscar. For that matter, nobody is putting forth the theory that the Oscar voters simply thought that this picture was the best of the five.

Of course not - that is boring and if critics and reviewers and "experts" write or say boring things now-a-days they get canned.
I hate our - shock/controversy entertainment world.
I think no one thinks it was the best picture, because it was everybody's second (or third favorite). That is, everyone liked it, but everyone liked one movie better. Still, some of the conspiracy theories for why Crash won have blown me away.
