Rule #6.
From how to blog by Tony Pierce:
6. have comments. dont be upset if no one writes in your comments for a long time. eventually they'll write in there. if people start acting mean in your comments, ask them to stop, they probably will.Ah, the tension is palpable. I can smell it in the air. Will he make a post every day for each one of Tony's rules? Aren't there more than thirty of them? Does he think that a few witty comments tacked onto Tony's rule makes for a good post?
Well, skipping ahead to Rule #26, it's my fucking blog, so eat me.
So, comments. Sure, I always have comments on. I used to wonder why Dooce doesn't always have comments on. Occasionally, she enables comments, and in an hour THERE ARE LIKE OVER FIVE HUNDRED. So when you're blog is ultrapopular, I guess comments are a problem.
Getting back to paragraph #4, I'm not above making inflammatory vulgar posts in order to get more comments. I am a comment whore, and I want more hits. Just don't start acting mean, or I shall ask you to stop, and you probably will.
