My heroes.
Disney acquired Pixar, and perhaps the first important decision made is what they're not doing:
...Toy Story 3 production will end effectively [Tuesday]. They said that sequels should only be made if there is a really great story that demands it, and should be the domain of those who created the original film.Ahh, a studio that believes there is a right time and a wrong time to make a sequel. What wonderful news that is! But you would expect nothing less from Pixar, a class act all the way.

My boy will be crushed that there is no more Buzz and Woody. Thanks for squashing his dreams. :(
Who wants old dreams when you can have new dreams?
Speaking of which, I saw an ad for Bambi II last night...
I saw the same add.
The wife's immediate reply was "what are they going to do, his mom died at the end of the first one."
It's been awhile, but doesn't Bambi's mother die really close to the beginning of the movie? It ends with Bambi taking over as the deer king or something, right?
While it's the thing that most people remember of the movie because it's so traumatic, it is far from the main point of the movie.
Odd that so many people avoid Bambi with their kids because of the mom's death, but no one seems to withhold Harry Potter from age-appropriate kids. Is it because it's only referred to, and you don't actually read the scene where his parents are killed?
It's called "Bambi II," not "Bambi's Mother II." Besides, it could be a prequel. Didn't you guys learn anything from George Lucas?
What an exciting title there, "Bambi II." (This from a guy whose name ends in "II.")
Bambi's mother dies about two thirds of the way through the movie. Should I be marking spoilers? :) The movie ends like it begins; Bambi's girlfriend has a baby and Bambi is standing on the top of the hill as the King of the Forest. Not unlike the beginning/end of Lion King.
What's next? Dumbo II: The Battle of Midway?
I hope bambi gets shot. =)
