It is this to which I aspire.

I want to someday make news for getting ready to start doing something.

Rowling expects to start on the final book, not yet titled, next month.
Hasn't done it, isn't doing it, you won't see it for many months. Which just proves it's not what you're doing (or what you expect to start doing), but who the fuck you are that counts.

I'm going to take this point to thank you chuck. A friend of mine and I had a conversation (riiiight, more like argument) about what a blog is. Supposedly a blog is a place where a person takes news stories or other discussions and comments on them him/herself in their own little corner of the internet.

the problem is that most "bloggers" claim to blog, but all they really do is journal. Talk about themselves and whats going on in their life, whereas I quote myself talks about other quotes/discussions about 90% of the time.

I'm not sure if this was your intent to start out, but after reading a bunch of journals, it's enjoyable to read a blog.

I think the best blogs are those that combine elements of both news and personal stories, sometimes in the same entries.

And you yell at me for threadjacking.

I agree with young Dez about the blend of the personal with the news. The best ones also have some diversity of topic - I don't always follow some of the topics that he posts about but he usually has something interesting to say.
