How news is made.

A fluff "news release" about holiday shopping becomes hard news as it bounces from one journalist's hands to another. If they're this lazy, it's no wonder they can't cover the important things when they happen.

The Internet allows us to see how news is made, as though we were walking through a factory tour, and we can compare the very similar results of a mass production system.
When you look behind the curtain, it's just a guy pulling levers.
