Why Neil Gaiman quit journalism.
Interesting interview I hadn't seen before. Nice to know Neil wasn't having any part of trashing an RPG, although that may have been incidental. Sounds like he had a lot of reasons to dislike being a journalist.
"Well, you are our fantasy and science fiction correspondent, and we want you to do a piece on Dungeons and Dragons." I said "Fair enough." They said, "Well, great. Now what we want is an article showing how it drives people mad and makes them use black magic and commit suicide." There was a vaguely incredulous pause on my side and I said "Well, no!" They said, "Why not?" I said, "Well, because I'm not working for you anymore," and I put down the phone. That was really how I quit journalism.

I daresay that jounalism, in some regards, is probably responsible for more deaths throughout the years than any RPG.
If you want to have some fun, check out some of the books in Christian bookstores about the horrors of D&D. I've never actually been in a Christian bookstore, but my former Radio co-host gave me a copy of one these books. Best read I've had in years.
I wanted our game club in St. Louis to run a D&D event in a shopping mall. Show people what happens, that it's perfectly harmless. The thought terrified everybody else.
I knew a lady who worked late at night and said she watched the 700 Club because that was all that was on. That's where she had heard of D&D. I asked her if they ever showed anybody playing the game, and she said no.
Those books are scary, I've read a few.
