Of course he'll be confirmed.

I admit I haven't done the research, but I don't think I agree with the politics of John Roberts, Bush's nominee for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Hell, if Bush likes something, I don't like it, that's a pretty good policy for me. Anyway, turns out that Roberts is a Grammar Nazi, and I heartily approve of that.

Time and again in his White House work, he singled out improper usage, though often in a wry tone suggesting a scholar's passion for the English language more than an effort to find fault or boast.
I use the term much like "rules lawyer," which others find pejorative and I always felt was a compliment. Nice to know there'll be a good Scrabble player on the Supreme Court soon.

I'm sure he can spell "perjury" and "nepotism" backwards!

In German, I just said:

Ich bin sicher, daß er "Meineid" und "Nepotismus" rückwärts buchstabieren kann!

Loving the Babel Fish on your site. I want one!

I too have found that, when I am uninformed on the issue, taking the opposite stance of Bush pretty much always ends up being the right decision for me.
