Royal Caribbean hypnotizes chickens.

Remember a few years ago when the NFL used the song "My Name Is" by Eminem until somebody complained about the rest of the lyrics in the song? Well, here are some more lyrics from the Iggy Pop song "Lust for Life," written by Iggy and David Bowie, used by a popular cruise ship line.

Here comes Johnny yen again
With the liquor and drugs
And the flesh machine
He's gonna do another strip tease
Hey man where'd you get that lotion?
I been hurting since I bought that gimmick
About something called love
Yeah something called love
Well that's like hypnotizing chickens
Well I'm just a modern guy
Of course I've had it in the ear before

As an interesting commentary on marketing strategy, I just saw a commercial for this cruise line that prompted me to make this post. I don't recall the name of the cruise line, even though I have searched for the song, downloaded it, and posted the lyrics here. A memorable commercial is not always an effective commercial.

Every single time I see those commercials I wonder if they are trying to get more of the heroin crowd to take their cruises.

Unfortunately, the heroin crowd have other things to spend their money on besides cruises. :)

Do they even listen to the rest of the song? I'd love to call some righteous parental group and tell 'em what the lyrics are, just so they can start up the protest engine. Could be fun.
