New DREAD silent super weapon.

I'm having trouble deciding whether this is a hoax or not. It could be a Popular Mechanics kind of development, where you see an article and pictures and you say, "Yeah right," and then a few years later you find out, "Hey, that was real?"

DREAD is an innovative new weapon system that has “no recoil, no sound, no heat, no gunpowder, no visible firing signature (muzzle flash), and no stoppages or jams of any kind.”

The video offered is a real hoot, cause it looks like it was made in 1950. The phony looking illustration is suspicious. No solider wants to hold a weapon that looks like a frisbee with handles. Your gun is your dick, as any Freudian will tell you, so it damned well better look like one.
