You gotta say it to play it.

World of Warcraft TCG has a Leeroy Jenkins card, natch. That's a given. The game text requires the player to say something as a cost to get an effect. Was my Star Destroyer! from SWCCG Special Edition the first CCG card that required a player to say something? Madness of the Bard from VTES doesn't count because it just makes you talk funny later. I may have found my own little niche in CCG history. Ain't that cute?

Didn't klingon Death yell come out before the Star Destroyer? Or is yellin not saying something?

in Vs there is a card where you have to say "Shazam" to get it to work also ;)

I admit that I never dreamed you had to actually yell to play that card until a playtest game with Tom Braunlich. His deck was loaded with KDY's, and my deck was loaded with Amandas. He kept yelling until he got hoarse, and I cancelled 'em all.

But I think you are correct, and according to Wesley Crusher's Card of the Day #123, you did have to actually yell to play the card.

I'll have to find another niche. Thanks for the info, though! :)

The rule was reversed eventually, clarifying you did not have to yell to play the card.

Well, damn. Thank God we still have the Knight of the Hokey Pokey. (I know, it's dancing and not yelling, but terpsichore is close to thespianism in my book.)

Don't forget, too, that in Trek you had to say "X reporting for duty!" whenever you played a personnel card.

The Monty Python CCG apparenlty involved lots of random quoting/singing/silly walking.

And even still, it was rumoured to be spectaculalry unfunny.

Yeah, I know, and "The Force is with you!" and "Interrupt!" But if it's not in the game text of the card, it don't count. Anyway, looks like I lose to KDY.

What about Austin Powers? "Can someone throw me a bone here?"
