The Stains were Fabulous.
The 1981 flick Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains has never been released to theaters or on VHS or DVD. You may have seen it on late night TV, that's where I caught it. The eBay DVDs are probably made from low quality VHS tapes of cable TV broadcasts. Amazon has a strange page allowing you to "vote" for the release of the DVD.
This is where I fell in love with Diane Lane. She was fourteen. (Remember, unrequited love is the purest form of love.) I remember this movie so well! Here's a page with three clips from the movie. The first clip is a lame coda tacked on to the credits, either skip that or watch it last.
More info here. Written by Nancy Dowd, the woman who wrote Slapshot, won an Oscar for Coming Home, left the set and took her name off the film. It looks like a cheesy teen-band flick, but it's really a kick-ass crash-and-burn story about fame. This ain't no John Hughes movie.
