Everything old is new again.

Why don't we just rewind my life about thirty years? When will Baby Boomers get their heads out of their asses and find the 21st century? The Retro Car Boom continues with two "new" concept cars.

First we have a rehash of the absolutely gorgeous Lamborghini Miura, "second best Lambo ever" as the article says (see Countach). Yes, it was a wonderful car. Yes, it's nice to see it again. But all the guy did was make some of the lines simpler and sharper. Is this what passes for a "concept" car these days? Let's just make an old car over again?

Next up we have the "new" concept car version of the Dodge Challenger. Again, this car was terrific. It has a ton of attitude and a great rear end (just like Charlize Theron). This one maybe has more new styling than the Miura guy did, but still just a rehash. Sigh.

Baby Boomer innovation seems to involve using designs that are so old that the Young Whippersnappers today won't realize it's just a ripoff of something older than they are. Maybe I'm just getting old, but so are you. If you don't feel this way about product design, trust me, you will. Insert portents of doom here.
