Ralph and Jesse have too much free time.

American activist lawyer Ralph Nader and civil rights and political activist Jesse Jackson have both asked that Terrell Owens, wide receiver, Philadelphia Eagles, be reinstated. They declare that his punishment is too harsh. I can't really think of anything to say about this, except for: "What the fuck?" Don't these two guys have more important things to do? When did they become sports commentators?

I had this exact same thought. Besides the fact that they don't have all the information, why don't they do their jobs and let the arbitrator do his job?

Perhaps because then they'd be (not) seen to be the nobodies they really are? Would you care to outline what their jobs actually are? Damnned if I can work out what they do for 3 years out of 4.

Jesse Jackson IS doing his "job". It involves taking any minority (at least, the only minority that he recognizes as a minority) and making a case out of any punishment they recieve for any infraction and screaming it's racism and injustice.

What's funny is that JJ decries racism but he wouldn't be in the public spotlight without it. So, what is his incentive to fight it?

Yes, Jesse Jackson without racism would be like a Republican administration with no external military threat, or Ralph Nader with no dangers to consumer safety. When you're in the fearmongering business, it's best to have things not quite rosy.

Nader is at least a lawyer, right? Maybe he has clients or something?
