God damn network television executives to everlasting burning fiery hell.

Son of a BITCH! I threw my pen so hard it broke. My two favorite shows are on AT THE SAME TIME! R.I.P. Veronica Mars, we hardly knew ye, because you're going to be KILLED by Lost! What are those morons at UPN thinking? I don't have Tivo and my VCR doesn't work, so I am royally fucked up the butt with sand in it.

Yeah, that just really sunk in for me when I was reprogramming the TiVo for our new cable company. I had Lost and VM in there and when it informed me there was a conflict I had to decide which one we would watch live and which one we would TiVo. Even that is a tough call and I believe I will have to double-check next Wednesday to make sure I'm watching the right thing.

The sad thing is that I am likely to want to roll back the tape, as it were, on either show. It was sorta a coin flip to decide which one to prioritize on the TiVo. I left 'em both programmed in just in case UPN (let's face it, if someone's movin', it's UPN, not ABC and Lost) wakes up and decides to switch VM with the model show, everything will just start TiVoing normally.

So, yeah. Screw you, you asshats! I'm bored for the first hour and then I have too much to watch. Boo.

Am I the only one with a two-input TiVo?

I don't watch Veronica Mars, but I feel your pain. Doesn't UPN have a lot of free space for programming? With no Trek on their schedule, isn't the no-brainer to keep VM relatively free of competition?

I suppose some former FOX heads are running UPN -- take the fan favorite and ram it into the ground!

Scratch that last comment ... take the clearly superior show on your schedule and ram it into the ground.

Yeah, get the two input Tivo. Well worth it. I had the same dilemma when Smallville conflicted with Lost last year. WB blinked and moved it to Thursday night.

Woah. For a TV decision to ilicit such a response from someone, there's only one thing I can say....

You LOVE television!

I feel pretty much the same way every fall, and I watch less and less TV as time goes on. (shrug) :-)

I haven't watched either show yet. But since both have elicited such passion I may have to watch Lost.

sadly still no TIVO at the new apt.

I have a VCR that came from a bastard of an old roomate. You want it? Been sitting in a box for 4 years but it worked great. lmk

I think I've got one around here somewhere, Dave. Thanks for the offer, though. :)

Seen the comic strip, that's not my point. In fact, all the new shows don't interest me, and I'm just watching the same shows I watched last season. TV still sucks, for the most part.

The point is that there is ONLY TWO HOURS of appointment TV for me, and those two hours are AT THE SAME TIME.

At any rate, I was able to start up the old coal-fired VCR and see 'em both last night. So the story has a happy ending! Except for the pen.
