Designing the Scarlet Monastery.

I found this interview about level design in World of Warcraft interesting. It's WoW stuff, but it's also game design stuff. The parallels to other kinds of game design are obvious. Changes that were made during the beta were many, and it's amazing how they can mix and match and rearrange things. I hadn't thought much about how the multiple instances allow players of different levels (or different available time quantities) explore the place. This is a very popular location in the game, due mostly to its flexibility. Pretty cool. The job that this guy has is the job I was looking for when I sent my résumé to Blizzard. From which I have received only a form letter.
