Where do those songs on your iPod come from?

Did Apple really think that people would fill up their 10,000-song iPod with 99-cent purchases from the iTunes Music Store? Where are all those songs coming from? When will the RIAA and the people that make and control music in America wake up and smell the coffee? File sharing is here to stay. Did a friend of yours ever make a cassette of tunes for you to listen to? This kind of thing has been going on for decades.

My dad's got stuff on reel-to-reel. And the recorder he used to make it.

That guy totally rocks, Kathy. I expect to see him canonized on BoingBoing soon. I'd vote for him too.
