Review: Meet John Doe

Just caught this on Turner Movie Classics, a fine channel for such things indeed. This film is Frank Capra at his best, with a virtuoso performance from Gary Cooper and a terrific job by Barbara Stanwyck, who never fails to impress me. Made in 1941, it was intended to combat pro-Nazi Fascist forces in America. The message still rings true. Top 100 material for me to be sure.

Ta for the recommendation. Netflix!

BTW you're probably one of the few people in the local blogosphere that's seen one of my top movies: Touch Of Evil. Some people are apparently allergic to black and white!

I haven't seen that but... wow! Orson Welles, Janet Leigh, Charlton Heston! I'd like to, for sure.
