Cloud Car meets its doom.
Lovely Wife Cheryl is fine, but her beloved Little Purple Car is certainly totaled. Hit from behind by a minivan, the Cloud Car was pushed into an SUV. This is not a fight that a Geo Metro can win. The right rear axle is way out of whack and I'm sure some important engine bits were fragged.
No air bags deployed, because the Geo's bumper (where the sensor is) had nothing to do with the accident, being much below the SUV bumper. The kid driving the minivan got a ticket for following too closely.
Cheryl is doing fine, a few sore bits but she's okay. It took a total of two hours to get the cop and the wrecker there, but both guys were really nice. It wasn't fun spending that much time in the cold with cars zipping by on 264. All's well that ends well, as they say.
UPDATE: The guy from Geico took about two seconds to declare the car totaled. So they'll be getting us a check as soon as we get them the title. They also supplied Cheryl with a rental car. Curiously, it's a Cavalier. We've been talking about Chevys (mainly the Cobalt and Aveo), and I told her No Way on the Cavalier. And now she's driving one. Ain't that a hoot.

Oh no! Well, I'm very glad LWC is ok, but it's really sad to see the poor Cloud Car take it on the chin like that.
On second look, doesn't it look like the Dearly Departed Cloud Car is snarling? Like it's all pissed off?
